A Love Letter For You

Love Letter is a project by Stephen Powers with the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program and is sponsored by the Pew Center for Arts & Heritage through the Philadelphia Exhibitions Initiative. His murals are playful, brightening the day and giving hope to those passerby’s who are aware enough to head their message.

I've seen street murals, of course, but nothing quite this creative and part of a series too. Very cool.

Jess,A few of these are in West Philly. Having lived in W Philly for the last few months, I began to photograph a few of the murals I thought were unbelievably brilliant.

A few that have made me aghast are murals on the side of single rowhomes that originally had been connected to other rowhomes. On a few of these, the brick on the open side of the building is painted and ornamented in 2-D paint to mirror the other decorative features of the actual building, including windows, tresses, glass, paint patterns, etc. Sometimes the difference is all but indistinguishable if you are not looking closely

Thanks for the link to the site, Jesse.
