The Jihad of Life: An Interview With A Wise Man

My friend Matthew Barlow did a series of video interviews recently with his friend Solomon, who holds degrees in Hebrew and Arabic Language, and is a committed Muslim. In this first video Solomon and Matthew talk a bit about the etymology of the words “Islam” and “Jihad.” I found the conversation to be extremely enlightening; I learned something. Specifically, Westerners aren’t the only ones who morph and distort words to mean what we want them to mean.
I feel if we had more people in our lives to mirror and mentor us like Solomon, who is no doubt filled with esteemed wisdom and spiritual maturity, our world might not be filled with so much unimaginable ignorance and hatred.

You can view the second part of this video interview on Matthew’s blog.
