This year I decided to go homemade again as far as Christmas gifts are concerned. I wrote a poem and then my wife and I teamed up to create 10 little pen and ink illustrations. The poem is below, enjoy!
Incarnation
The beauty of night
The stillness enshrine
Small, humble and weak
Expressed Logos Divine
Incarnate brilliance unfolds
Through creative display
To encourage and love
Those who would take it away
At the intersection of time
Our worlds will meet
Heaven and Earth not spilt
But entwined through defeat
Neither sword nor throne
Would this King bestow
Through pain and despair
His Kingdom shall grow
To embrace the Sublime
Is the volume we glean
God in us and through us
To become the unseen
This outrageous desire
Surrounds baffling device
Infinite wisdom displayed
That will somehow suffice
Through darkness and sorrow
This story still told
A small light shines bright
With the splendor of gold
Yet beneath all of this
Earthy, liberating and free
This fleshly presence remains
Emanuel he must be
Those are beautiful! Nice Work!
